Miikka Muurinen has made his decision, committing to the Arkansas Razorbacks over a strong list of contenders that included Kentucky, Indiana, North Carolina, and others.

The 6-foot-10, 185-pound prospect, who plays basketball in Serbia, is ranked No. 55 overall and the No. 9 power forward in the 2026 class, according to 247 Sports, making him one of the more sought-after international talents in the cycle. His blend of size, skill, and versatility made him a priority target for multiple high-major programs throughout his recruitment.

Momentum toward Arkansas had been building in recent days, with Travis Branham logging a Crystal Ball prediction in favor of the Razorbacks ahead of the announcement. That prediction ultimately was accurate, as Muurinen officially chose Arkansas on Monday.

Kentucky, led by head coach Mark Pope, had been involved early and consistently. The Wildcats offered Muurinen in July 2024 and continued to prioritize him, including an in-person visit from Pope in April 2025. Kentucky remained firmly in the mix through the final group, but ultimately came up short in the decision.

For Arkansas, the addition of Muurinen brings a high-upside frontcourt piece with the ability to stretch the floor and develop into a versatile contributor. For Kentucky, attention now shifts to other targets as the Wildcats continue to build out their future roster.
