Michigan football has been in the business of getting more good news than bad, but it's not all been good news. On Wednesday, the Wolverines learned that they were losing sophomore linebacker Cole Sullivan to Oklahoma, despite a lot of positive signs that he could return to Ann Arbor.
However, the bad news is short-lived, as another player in the transfer portal announced he will be returning for 2026.
One of the surprise entries into the transfer portal this cycle was starting right tackle Andrew Sprague, who appeared to definitely be on his way out. However, despite overtures from Missouri and Texas, Sprague announced on Wednesday that he will return to the maize and blue.
Of players who entered the portal but came back, Sprague, cornerback Zeke Berry, and right guard Jake Guarnera all announced that they will return. Additionally, offensive linemen Andrew Babalola and Blake Frazier confirmed that they will return in 2026.
With Sprague's withdrawal from the transfer portal, the Wolverines now have all three potential returning starters on the offensive line back, along with Babalola, Evan Link, Ty Haywood, Brady Norton, and others who could fill the starting five in 2026.
