Michigan guard enters transfer portal after Dusty May's departure

The defending national champion Michigan Wolverines nearly ran the table when it came to retaining players after Dusty May's departure to the NBA, but one notable player is interested in seeing what else is out there.

USA TODAY's Detroit Free Press reports that guard LJ Cason will enter the transfer portal, and his landing spot will be something to watch during this otherwise dormant period on the college basketball calendar.

Cason emerged as an important reserve for the Wolverines in his two college seasons and shot over 40% from three-point range as a sophomore.

Regardless of where he lands, Cason will likely miss the first half of the season at minimum as he recovers from a torn ACL suffered this past February.
