Michigan football is looking to add some top talent in the middle of the defensive front, and arguably the top target at the position is 2027 Rock Hill (S.C.) South Pointe four-star defensive lineman Seth Tillman.

The four-star recruit ranked by Rivals as the No. 116 player in the country was thought to be a Georgia lean, but after his official visit to Ann Arbor, that might be changing.

According to Rivals' Steve Wiltfong (subscription required), despite some consternation from some analysts coming off the past weekend, it appears that the Wolverines might be the team to beat. However, Michigan getting Tillman is far from a done deal.

Michigan surpassed Georgia in the Seth Tillman sweepstakes. The four-star defensive lineman took his official visit over the weekend and had a great experience. Now the Maize and Blue have to hold off Clemson. South Carolina is in the equation as well.

Tillman is listed at 6-foot-3.5 and 300 pounds entering his senior year.

Here is the scouting report from 247Sports' Andrew Ivins:

-Moldable defensive lineman that might project best a one-gap nose based on what he put on tape as a junior.-Looks the part with a wide lower half and is believed to be somewhere in the ballpark of 6-foot-3, 265 pounds. Should eventually carry 295 pounds as the body appears to still be maturing.-Flashes adequate snap anticipation and has proven to be a nimble mover in tight quarters.-Creates push back with a powerful punch and can forklift opponents.-Frequently makes double teams work as he anchors his feet and eats space.-Can certainly bring it for stretches, but needs to improve motor and increase lateral range.-Projects as a potential multi-year contributor at the Power Four level that might need some time in the weight room, but can eventually emerge as a valuable asset in a rotation.

Tillman is also a basketball player in high school. Michigan has one defensive tackle-type committed already to the 2027 class in Houston (Tx.) South four-star Xavier Muhammad.
