Michigan football has long had a deep room of edge rushers and there's always a long list of prospects waiting for their turn to be the next great Wolverine at the position.

Usually, when a four-star comes to Ann Arbor, it tends to mean that before long, they'll find themselves selected on one of the first two days of the NFL draft. Such, unfortunately, wasn't the case for former four-star Kechaun Bennett.

Bennett had the exact frame you'd expect to see from an elite edge rusher, but never seemed to be able to crack the rotation. Having committed as part of the famed 2021 class, Bennett was mostly used on special teams and rarely saw time on defense. After a good showing in this year's spring game, he ended up hitting the transfer portal, and on Wednesday, he committed to UCLA.

Michigan already has a likely four-man rotation at edge rusher with the starters being TJ Guy and Derrick Moore and the backups being Dom Nichols and Cameron Brandt. Devon Baxter and Lugard Edokpayi are waiting in the wings, and when Nate Marshall arrives, he could also find himself in the rotation.

Bennett has at least one year of eligibility remaining.
