Michigan bolsters QB room with Colorado State transfer

Michigan football currently has four quarterbacks on the roster: the starter, Bryce Underwood, as well as second-year QB Chase Herbstreit, and true freshmen Tommy Carr and Brady Smigiel. But with Mikey Keene transferring to Arizona State, Davis Warren signing with Stanford, Jadyn Davis hitting the portal, and Jake Garcia being out of eligibility, the Wolverines need more bodies, and perhaps a more legitimate backup.

And on Sunday, they got it.

After entertaining Elon quarterback Landen Clark, it appeared as if both parties were heading in separate directions. Enter Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi, the Colorado State quarterback, who committed to the Wolverines on Sunday afternoon.

Fowler-Nicolosi redshirted this past season with just three games under his belt. He was the starter for the Rams for the two preceding years, and has completed 60.2% of his passes over four seasons, with 6,938 yards, 38 touchdowns, and 29 interceptions.

He's Michigan's second transfer portal commitment of the day, with former Texas wide receiver Jaime Ffrench having pledged to the Wolverines earlier on Sunday.
