The Michigan Wolverines will have a reliable backup quarterback to Bryce Underwood in 2026 as former Colorado State starter Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi has committed to Michigan.
The Aledo, Texas, native appeared in 31 games with 28 starts across his four-year career with the Colorado State Rams. He completed 583 of his 969 pass attempts (60.2 percent) for 6,938 yards and 38 touchdowns with 29 interceptions.
In 2023, Fowler-Nicolosi completed 62.1 percent of his passes for 3,460 yards and 22 touchdowns with 16 interceptions, plus one rushing touchdown, earning him an honorable mention All-Mountain West. In 2024, the signal-caller connected on 60.5 percent of his throws for 2,796 yards and 14 touchdowns with nine interceptions, and put up 75 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns.
However, the 6-foot-2, 215-pounder had an atypical 2025 season, completing 44 of 82 passes (54%) for 488 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions in three starts. After a 17-16 loss to UTSA in October, Jay Norvell was fired as CSU’s coach, and shortly after, the former Rams captain was replaced by Jackson Brousseau. He then elected to leave the football program altogether.
According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Fowler-Nicolosi is the No. 973 overall player and No. 57 quarterback in the NCAA transfer portal.
