The Michigan Wolverines will have to wait a little longer in order to know who they will be playing in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Announced on the Selection Sunday show on CBS, the Michigan Wolverines earned the 1-seed in the Midwest Region and will be playing in Buffalo, New York against a 16-seed in the opening round, but their opponent will already have played a game in the tournament before they get to play against Michigan. That’s because Michigan’s 16-seeded opponent have to participate in a play-in game to earn the right to play the Wolverines.

Should Michigan win in the first round, it will set up a matchup with either the 8-seed Georgia or 9-seed Saint Louis. And should the Wolverines win in that round, they will head right back to Chicago for the Sweet Sixteen.
How far do you think Michigan will go in this year’s NCAA Tournament? Let us know down in the comments!
