The PGA Tour returns to Quail Hollow, the host of last year’s PGA Championship.

Scottie Scheffler won here a year ago as the course was set up for major competition, but for the Truist Championship, it’s expected to play extremely differently.

Typically, when the PGA Tour comes to this course, it’s a bombers’ paradise. That’s why Rory McIlroy has had such incredible success at Quail Hollow, winning there four times.

Michael Kim took to the golf course for his practice round, and gave his verdict on the conditions.

Michael Kim on the course conditions at Quail Hollow

Kim played a practice round at Quail Hollow before the 2026 Truist Championship, and then took to his highly popular X account to share his verdict on the conditions afterward.

He posted, “Quail Hollow conditions for you sickos.

“Greens FIRM and quite fast… but rain coming wed night-thur morning.

“Rough is not like the PGA last yr. Much more manageable.”

So thanks to the rain, we’re going to get a soft golf course, despite attempts to make the greens firm and fast for the players. That, combined with “manageable” rough, and we’re going to get a birdie-fest this week at the Truist.

And six-time PGA Tour winner, Hunter Mahan, found a way to compare the golf course to a Kardashian. He said, “I guess I would say Quail Hollow is like a Kardashian. It’s very modern, beautiful and well-kept. But it lacks a soul or character.”

Luckily for the players, the golf course isn’t hosting a major championship this year, but as a former major venue it could provide a fitting test for next week’s PGA Championship at Aronimink.
