Michael Jordan played over four seasons with Stacey King from 1989 to 1994, winning three championships with his former Chicago Bulls teammate. So, it's no surprise he'd have something to say about King dying at 59, as announced by the Bulls on Sunday.
Jordan released a statement Monday saying he was "deeply saddened" by the death of King, who went on to become a beloved color commentator for the Bulls in his post-playing career.
"We shared some special years together as teammates, and he was part of a group that helped define an era of of Chicago Bulls basketball," the statement read. "My thoughts are with Stacey's family, friends, and everyone whose lives he touched."
Scottie Pippen also honored their former teammate in a statement on X, calling King "a true ambassador for the game."
