Four-star wide receiver Eli Woodard seemed all but certain to play his college football in the state of California. He was heavily pursued by Cal and UCLA, and had even committed to USC in February.

However, the 2027 pass catcher reopened his recruitment after three months, and an East Coast school swooped in for his services. Miami received a commitment from Woodard and will be looking to deploy the five-foot-eleven speedster in a couple of seasons.

It's been speculated that USC's no-visit policy for committed recruits prompted Woodard to back out of his commitment so he could see other programs despite making an early promise to the Trojans.

Woodard has posted a combined 88 catches for 1,656 yards and 24 touchdowns in his three seasons of varsity football at Chaparral High School in California.
