Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Dolphins fans and fans across the country.
The Miami Dolphins open their 2026 preseason schedule on Friday with a visit to the Washington Commanders. In the league’s era of just three preseason games, balancing the needs to get starters ready for the regular season and to get younger players game experience is more difficult. Add in Miami’s new coaching staff and a complete roster reset this year, leading to numerous rookies and younger players trying to prove themselves, and it is tough to predict how much Miami’s starters will play in Friday’s game.
Which brings us to today’s SB Nation Reacts survey question. How long do you think the Dolphins’ starters should play against the Commanders? Should Miami sit the starters, waiting until the second preseason game next week? Should they only play the first quarter? The entire first half? Into the second half? Or should the Dolphins give them the entire game to gain experience and build chemistry?
