Bobby Slowik, who served as the Miami Dolphins’ senior pass game coordinator last season, will be Jeff Hafley’s offensive coordinator, NFL Network is reporting.
Slowik has NFL experience as an offensive coordinator, having directed the Houston Texans’ offense, led by quarterback C.J. Stroud, in 2023 and 2024.
It's a significant appointment because Hafley is a defensive-minded coach who plans to call defensive plays during games, unlike his predecessor, Mike McDaniel, who called the offense.
Slowik took over a Texans offense that ranked 30th in points and 31st in yards the year before. In those two seasons under his direction, the Texans ranked 13th and 19th in points and 12th and 22nd in yards.
Houston was 10-7 and won the AFC South both years.
Slowik has 12 years of NFL coaching experience, starting on the defensive staff in Washington (2011-13) before joining San Francisco’s staff (2017-22), where he primarily was an offensive assistant focusing on the passing game.
With Chris Tabor serving as special teams coordinator, that leaves only the defensive coordinator's role open.
