The Mets formally announced their 2026 Opening Day roster ahead of Thursday's matchup with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Officially, outfielder Carson Benge was selected to the major league roster. He will wear uniform No. 3.
Additionally, LHP A.J. Minter has been placed on the 15-day IL, retroactive to 3/22, due to left lat surgery.
INF Vidal Brujan, LHP Bryan Hudson and C Ben Rortvedt have been designated for assignment.
That means that INF Jared Young has earned the final spot on the bench, and Richard Lovelady has secured the final bullpen spot.
