Mel Kiper Jr. rips NFL as 'clueless' after Shedeur Sanders falls to fifth round

Longtime ESPN NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. has been one of Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders' most vocal defenders during his 2025 NFL Draft slide.

After Sanders finally landed with the Cleveland Browns in Saturday's fifth round, Kiper absolutely unloaded on the entire league ... to the point of calling the NFL "clueless" when it comes to evaluating quarterbacks.

"The NFL has been clueless for 50 years when it comes to evaluating quarterbacks," Kiper boldly stated during ESPN's coverage of Sanders' selection. "Clueless. They have no idea what they're doing in terms of evaluating quarterbacks. [Sanders being picked in the fifth round is] proof."
