Swiss Loïc Meillard claimed his second win of the alpine World Cup season with victory in the men's giant slalom in Schladming, Austria on Tuesday.

The two-time world champion came in second in the first run, but made it up with a strong performance in his second effort to clock a total time of 2 minutes 14.38 seconds.

First-run leader Lucas Pinheiro Braathen of Brazil had to settle for second, 0.73 seconds behind. France's Alban Elezi Cannaferina was third, claiming the first podium of his career.

World Cup leader and title holder Marco Odermatt of Switzerland finished fourth after a seventh place in the first run.

A slalom is scheduled for Wednesday in Schladming.
