Medical update & first words: Anthony Gordon to Barcelona latest
La Liga giants Barcelona’s first signing of the summer has on Thursday moved a considerable step closer.
This comes after Anthony Gordon arrived in the city, ahead of penning his contract as the latest addition to Hansi Flick’s squad.
After Barcelona agreed on the terms of a deal with Newcastle United on Wednesday evening, winger Gordon touched down in his new home earlier this afternoon.
From here, the 25-year-old was met by a wave of eager journalists, to whom he simply assured:
“I’m very happy”.
Gordon was then collected by a private car, before being taken to the Hospital de Barcelona. All the while, his family were transported to the nearby Torre Melina Gran Melia Hotel.
And the England international has since departed the hospital, having passed his medical tests under the watch of Dr. Ricard Pruna.
After arriving at the Ciutat Esportiva this evening, Gordon will then sign his contract, before being announced as a new Barca player.
