I was bored throughout the first half and never bought Pedro as Mr. Fantastic. Second half was better. End of day, have never been a big fan of the Fantastic Four… (and am lukewarm on this movie) but that didn’t stop me from from loving Guardians/Ant-Man, etc when Marvel was firing on all cylinders.

My Superhero Summer Scorecard:

Thunderbolts A-
Superman B/B+
F4 C+/B-
Sounds like it was missing both juice and wit. Kirby carried it by most accounts.

This movie fell off a cliff in weekend 2, bringing in only 40 million bucks, which is a 66% decline, almost on the level of Cap 4’s catastrophic second weekend numbers.

Might barely break even considering the $300m budget. Also what is Cap 4?

The entire box office is in the toilet this weekend.
It’s actually not. It’s just a weekend without new tent poles opening. Bad Guys 2 and Naked Gun are both opening at or a little above expectations and Supes, Jurassic and F1 all had solid holds varying from 35% - 47% drops.

F4 is the only movie that has a really ugly drop, surprisingly even worse than already tempered expectations for the 2nd movie.
