Charlie Cox and DiNofrio are just so damn perfect in their roles.
They are fantastic casting. I just read the other day that the only reason DiNofrio hasn't appeared wider in the MCU movies is because it's one of the most complex rights issues that exist in the MCU today. Fans want to see him against Spiderman outside of animation. He is great in this show though.

Man I really hope they pick it up a bit this season. I still havent managed to finish season one honestly...but this should motivate me to knock it out.
Adding Jessica Jones is always good...but somehow it has the feeling of Jumping the Shark in this instance.

Stoked to see Jessica. Looks like Karen is back in full force as well. Looking forward to seeing what they do this season.

Anyone watching season 2? Pretty on the nose stuff with what's happening in America. Half the average citizens think Fisk is doing a great job, making NY safe, etc. Half are protesting his thug tactics and how people disappear with his ICE like police squads arresting people and no one, family, friends, lawyers, etc, knows where they are taken. Going to be interesting to see how Marvel plays this out.

Vincent D'Onofrio is soooo freaking good in this. Also, for those Marvel "What if" fans? There is a scene in Daredevil that has been confirmed to be the "Watcher" peering through the window. A cool nod or tie to "What if".

as great as DiNofrio is... there's just so many times I can watch DD v. Kingpin. I get it, they're telling a story that very much about the now in the world, using the Kingpin as a metaphor, but almost every season has been Kingpin-centric and it's getting a little stale.

I love Kingpin. I am the opposite. Daredevil, I think is stuck. DiNofrio is one of the best villains the Marvel Universe. I think the show should have been Kingpin. Daredevil, is he trying to arrest Kingpin, save him, wtf? No one knows.

Foggy's storyline was a good motivator for the rest of the show and actually showed there were stakes to the world and Karen been in this entire season.
It's good to hear that Karen is back! Foggy's killing after guaranteeing they'd all be back was booshie, as we all know. I like a world with stakes, but that was totally the wrong way to do it.

story-wise, it absolutely was the right way to do it for this entire arc.

Story wise, it was a giant middle finger. If you're going to do that, then just fridge him. Start the season with the death of Foggy. Don't go all "No, please come back to watch! Karen and Foggy are going to feature!" IDGAF how good a show it turns out to be (and GOD, was it bad), but that renders a show a no go. That's major assholery.

You didn’t watch the show so how would you know what the death did storywise?

I watched the first few episodes and it sucked out loud. The one and only reason I agreed to watch was the promise--as it happens, the outright lie--the showrunners made. Then I watched on a further episode or two from the first to see if they managed to right the ship. My goodness, did they not.

I watch that series just for Kingpin. Best villain in the whole Marvel Universe in movies or series.

question is... could they have written a strong credible and interesting story...without killing Foggy?
or were the writers so weak they needed the murder of Matts very best friend in order to create a sense of stakes in the story?

now, Im not a DD purist...so this question is completely genuine...
was the death of Foggy the logical and obvious next step in the evolution of Matt/DD?

I was gonna drop a couple comparisons to note the absolute fact that its so much better when sucking happens out loud versus silently...
but nah..........

Or, say it's absolutely necessary to the writers for whatever reason. After begging the fans to come back with promises, how about writing an interesting plot where Foggy falls down a rabbit hole that eventually gets him killed and not just idiotically fridged from the off?

Or, say it's absolutely necessary to the writers for whatever reason.

It’s not for “whatever reason”. It’s literally the plot point that sets off Daredevil’s entire character arc for two seasons.

I just remain so confused/bemused by anyone being so indignant about the story not being worth the story choice… when they literally didn’t see how the story choice played out over the entire arc of the series.

I get people being mad about a bait and switch from the showrunners words to try and calm the masses and get eyeballs. That argument I’ve got no problem with. And I could get if you watched the entire series and then made your argument that the juice wasn’t worth the squeeze, but when you literally have no idea where the show ended, yet speak with such authority that the beginning was wrong, it’s just weird. And from one writer to another, I gotta tell you, that just comes off as incredibly bizarre… almost Trump-like in its “I know all despite not knowing any of the facts!” type arrogance.

After begging the fans to come back with promises, how about writing an interesting plot where Foggy falls down a rabbit hole that eventually gets him killed and not just idiotically fridged from the off?

LOL... your alt “pitch” here really just underscores the arrogance/how out of whack your argument is because “whatever” the above plot is wouldn’t have led to the ending and arc the show wanted to get to.

And AGAIN, if you watched the show and thought the arc was stupid/Foggy’s death wasn’t necessary to it happening, that’s an argument worth discussing. But you literally don't have the knowledge to make that argument so you're really just coming off as some kind of butt-hurt fanboy who's big mad because you got duped by what you believe was a marketing trick.
