Maybe Jenkins thinks the #1 or #2 is not a give me.

Were all making guess right now on what Jenkins will do and this crossed my mind. Not only does Sullivan have a good idea what the WR situation is at the present but maybe Jenkins sees more competition in McAddley and Gilmore or others on the squad than we expect. One would believe that Jenkins would be a front runner to start at the #1 or #2 position but that gap might not be as far as some think. I know that Kasper has better hands then Jenkins from what I have seen and Jenkins hands don't seem to be any better than McAddley's. Jenkins does provide veteran help and can be a difference maker on special teams but his fumbles also make a difference in the wrong direction at times. If we loose Jenkins, I hope it doesn't come back to bite us on the @ss.

I have mentioned a few times in other threads that if sullivan thought he had to have martay we would tell graves to roll out the $$ and get him signed. I would not be surprised if sullivan has mcaddley or gilmore above martay on his depth chart..

interesting that graves said today that we will be concentrating on defense in free agency.. Either we are taking a receiver at #6 of sullivan has let it be known that he can live with mcaddley, gilmore and kasper..crazy..but jerry knows martay's ability better than anyone else in the NFL..

Heck, McAddley might be a better receiver RIGHT NOW....I was thinking about that earlier this morning.

Jerry Sullivan might truly believe that the guys we have right now are better than Sanders and Jenkins, and he might be right.

McCaddley is a lot like Jenkins... Fast as heck, so-so hands, needs to work on his route running. And a lot cheaper.

mcaddley looks on the field to be a couple of inches taller than martay also..although the cardinals have martay at 6' 0" and mcaddley at 6' 1"..I noticed at training camp mcaddley tooked like about the tallest receiver we had..but if you look height on the roster they are all pretty close to each other..

Yea but MarTay is a tripple threat while McCadley isn't. MarTay can return kicks with the top dogs in the leauge, be a reciever, and be one of the best Gunners in the NFL. McCadley is just a reciever. MarTay saves is 2 roster spaces alone. We can't let him get away.

Yeah but, Martay has also fumbled his share of those returns too.

Well thats true, but he got much much better last year. It was the 2001 season when he had the worst fumbling. Last year he did well. I don't think it's fair to forget about the good year last year and bring up his worst year the year before.

How much is Brian Mitchell making?

Even at this stage in his career, Jenkins is not the returner Mitchell is and IF Mitchell is making less than Martay then why should Martay make more, does he really have WR skills equal to his special team skills? Jenkins is also not half as good as Vai Sikahema was and Sikahema did it all on skill more than speed. I think McAddley would make a very good returner as Gilmore, no? Don't get me wrong, I would love to see Jenkins return but that kind of money he is asking for would be better served on defenssive help.

Kasper can return kicks, so roster spot gotten back.... Darling, fro my understanding s an outstanding coverage guy. I question that based on his size, but it is possible. I think Arizona paid attention to secondary abilities with some of their signings.

But is Darling a gunner? If he isn't we still need one to go with Gilmour...
