Maxx Crosby rumor details star's new plan for 2026 after failed Raiders-Ravens trade originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.

The Baltimore Ravens have shocked the world after it was revealed they pulled out of the blockbuster Maxx Crosby trade with the Las Vegas Raiders.

There are no shortage of people questioning the Ravens' motives for pulling out of the Crosby trade, but the official reason is a failed physical stemming from his knee surgery that, by the way, everyone knew he had, including the Ravens.

Say what you want about what the Ravens did, and it's certainly fair to question it, but they were within their right to do so because the trade was not official.

When it comes to Crosby himself, he might be done with this whole trade thing.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the five-time Pro Bowler is back in the building in Las Vegas and, as of right now, is ready to play for the Raiders again.

"Raiders star Maxx Crosby, now back from Baltimore with the trade to the Ravens off, is headed back into the building in Las Vegas, ready to resume his training and rehab program," Rapoport reported.

"His mindset: Crosby is ready to play football for the Raiders, ready to move forward."

As far as other teams are concerned when it comes to a trade, the Raiders have been getting calls for Crosby since news broke of the Ravens pulling out of the deal, but Rapoport adds that those teams are "looking for a good deal," which means teams are trying to take advantage of the situation to get Crosby for cheaper.

Even still, Rapoport notes that the timing of Crosby's recovery "drastically limits the possibility of a trade."

"Two months after a full meniscus repair, Crosby 'looks great and feels great,' source said. But the timing drastically limits the possibility of a trade," he said.

"Teams have called the Raiders since the news broke looking for a good deal. Crosby's focus now is on rehab and getting back," Rapoport added.

There's a lot to unpack there.

It was Crosby who reportedly drove the trade in the first place and it's unclear just how much the Raiders wanted to let him go.

If Crosby has changes his mind about a trade after this entire fiasco, we could see him staying in Las Vegas, as awkward as that would be. From there, it would be Las Vegas' decision whether to keep the relationship going.

The Raiders could also re-visit trade talks with teams once the star edge rusher is healthy, but we know Las Vegas isn't just going to give him away, so if offers are lacking, that's another avenue for Crosby to stay in Sin City.

It's hard to call how this will go moving forward because it is such a unique situation. Hopefully we get some clarity soon.
