We can add Kansas City Chiefs pending free agent and wide receiver Tyquan Thornton as a possible target for the New York Giants.

That was always a possibility given the Giants' need at receiver, but the chances of Thornton coming to New York just increased after he gave the team's offensive coordinator, Matt Nagy, a ton of praise.

Thornton, who played under Nagy with the Chiefs in 2025, was a guest on "Talkin' Ball with Pat Leonard" on Radio Row at the Super Bowl and gave Nagy a ringing endorsement while stating he believes he's perfect for Nagy's scheme.

"He's very aggressive," Thornton said of Nagy. "And I love his mindset and what he brings to the table. Excited to see what he brings to New York. I love him. It was a great opportunity to work with him and what he brings to the table. He was able to allow me to go out there and just do the things that I do and just let my light shine and go out there and make plays."

"He's gonna do great in New York," he added. "I feel like he had a great offensive scheme in mind... I don't see nobody stopping me in that scheme."

A former second-round pick of the Patriots, Thornton's career has been a disappointment overall.

But the Chiefs managed to unlock Thornton a bit in 2025, when he stepped up big time for Kansas City while the team was dealing with injuries at wide receiver.

The result was Thornton finishing with a career-best 438 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Even if Wan'Dale Robinson stays, the Giants need more depth behind him, Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton.

Thornton would be an ideal fit as the No. 4 target in the offense, especially with his history of success under Nagy.
