AUGUSTA, Ga. — Brandon Holtz has a special delivery arriving Wednesday at Augusta National.

The 39-year-old U.S. Mid-Amateur champion, who Wednesday called himself "the old, fat guy" of the six amateurs teeing it up at the 2026 Masters Tournament, is having his old driver delivered in a last-minute decision that came together Tuesday thanks to the USGA.

Winners of USGA championships donate a club to the USGA Golf Museum to honor their victories, and Holtz chose his driver. The 8-degree Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond with a Ventus Black 7X shaft, as Golf Channel reported, has been on display ever since. But Tuesday afternoon, Holtz had one of his friends reach out to the USGA to see whether he could have the club possibly delivered to Augusta National because he had been struggling hitting driver.

Scott Langley, the senior director of player relations at the USGA, helped get the club to UPS in time for the overnight shipment. The club is expected to arrive Wednesday to the Masters, where Holtz begins play Thursday.

"Pretty special for sure," said Holtz, who won the Mid-Am at Troon Country Club in Arizona. "Shows you what the USGA does and will do for you."

Holtz said he's not tracking delivery of the club, trusting he'll get it before his 9:02 a.m. ET start Thursday.

"They basically said, 'hey, just enjoy your day and we'll get it to you at some point.' So no, I'm not tracking it, but I have faith that they'll be here."
