Am I right on this? Massie gets suspended on Aug.11 and appeals and we've heard nothing. Martavias Bryant gets suspended Aug 27 and the a ruling on his appeal has already been made.

I think I at triggered by the submission of the appeal, FWIW.

Since you quoted my post...

First off, I wasn't one of those trying to defend Massie. Second, my comment was only about how it's futile trying to look for a logical explanation of why Massie is getting suspended for 3 games vs. the normal 2 games. Goodell has routinely shown he is inconsistent with his rulings.

If I made the rules, DUI would be punished much more severely than 2 or 3 games.

I'm assuming he got an extra game for lying about it.

But I read that Massie appealed right away. Bryant appealed on the 28th and had a judgement 3 days later.

Maybe Bryant's was clear cut failed drug tests, which is what I read, and Massie's case has more moving parts, but still 3 weeks to 3 days is kind of ridiculous.

If you're Massie, this is your chance. You clearly have a major problem you've had for years, and you've now had months to start working on said problem. Miss 3 games, hopefully this is the wakeup call for him to turn his life around and clearly the Cards need that to be the case.

Humphries is athletic but he's clearly not going to be ready to start anytime soon, Im' not sure he'll be ready to start next season if he doesn't work hard and BA clearly says he doesn't.

So this is the chance for Massie, get the message, get and stay clean, and the RT job is his. Presumably he'll be a better player sober, obviously he'll be a better person if he can shake those demons.

Plus he's a likely FA next year, he has a lot to lose. Oh wait this is the NFL where trouble young adults get 8 chances at getting their life in order  lol

...unless they're members of the Arizona Cardinals.

I wonder, because it's the Arizona Cardinals that are involved, if the suspension will be reduced two months into the season after Massie has sat at home for three games. If I was BASK or Mike Bidwill I would be getting onto the NFL offices asking why other teams are being dealt with quickly while the Cardinals seem to be stuck at the back of the queue. First DWash, now the Massie appeal seems to be taking forever too.

huh? two months into the season he would have missed around 8 games and the suspension would already be over for the past 5 games so therefor an appeal could no longer be ruled on.
