Bender's issues are tied to confidence and that will natural get better as he has more and more success. Chriss seems to have a poor attitude and that may or may not change over time. Bender's issues seem far more fixable at this point and thus I have very little worry in Bender's development. Chriss' development on the other hand scares me quite a bit and if we can get any decent value in trading him I wouldn't be upset about it. Otherwise I think you just have to continue to let these guys develop and hope that at least one of them breaks out within the next couple seasons. To me the issues with Chriss and Bender are:
Bender - Too passive and soft.
Chriss - Inconsistent motor.
You can argue the both are young and still learning the game but look at guys like Markkanen, Porzingis and other young guys who are making an early impact. Some guys you can tell will be solid pros but these two probably won’t be in the league in a couple of years if they can’t get it together. But maybe the blame falls on the coaching staff for not fixing these flaws.
