Caitlin Clark has been ruled unavailable for Thursday’s matchup against the Phoenix Mercury due to an ongoing back issue, Fever coach Stephanie White told reporters on Wednesday.

The news comes as a bit of a surprise given Clark’s status. The third-year guard is active and available to play Wednesday in Los Angeles against the Sparks, making her absence for the subsequent trip to Phoenix (Thursday) a tough pill to swallow for local fans who had circled this date on the calendar. Clark last played in Phoenix in 2024.

Looks like she's ducking fans and AT.

Also, can be looked at, maybe she is not the number one guard? I agree 11 is way too low.

Interesting, that according to players, Clark isn't even the best guard on Indiana.

Wow! This guy literally lived the Caitlin Clark thing, in the NBA. When Magic Johnson came in as a rookie, it was all Magic, all the time, even if Magic deferred to Kareem. The NBA needed publicity and they made a Magic versus Bird rivalry as big of a thing as they could make it. Those two young guys were the faces of the NBA despite all the legends, like Kareem, Doctor J, etc., playing in the NBA before Magic and Bird got there. I think Kareem has forgotten how much hype Bird and Magic brought to the NBA at the time.

Stuff doesn't just happen to Caitlin. I see people getting wrecked more than her, and since it isn't Caitlin, no one pays attention.

I see Copper get just blown up in games. Not on Sports Center. Caitlin, something less hard than Copper, lead story. LOL.

People forget as a rookie Taurasi was getting the treatment. Why it stopped? Because Diana is crazy, and she literally would fight back. She scared people from hard fouling her. She didn't whine about it after games. She got revenge. I couldn't stand it if Taurasi played her whole career whining about getting fouled. Guess what? When people can't stop you, they try and slow you down. They use hard fouls. The same people who say the women aren't as good as the men, don't even watch the games because of that, but will complain Caitlin is getting fouled too hard. If you aren't watching the games because they aren't as good, how do you know what is going on in them? LMAO. Lots of ladies are getting fouled even harder than Caitlin. You wouldn't know, because you don't watch the WNBA! :) :soapbox:

I can go a little Bill Burr on this issue.
