Marlon Vera will look to rebound against a rising contender.
Vera meets David Martinez at UFC Fight Night 268 on Feb. 28 at Arena CDMX in Mexico City (Paramount+). A person with knowledge of the matchup informed MMA Junkie of the booking but asked to remain anonymous since the promotion has yet to make an official announcement. Marcel Dorff first reported the news, which the UFC later announced with Martinez.
Vera (23-11-1 MMA, 15-10 UFC) is on a three-fight losing skid. The former title challenger fell short in his title fight against Sean O'Malley at UFC 299, then suffered two more decision losses to Deiveson Figueiredo, and most recently Aiemann Zahabi at UFC Fight Night 262 this past October.
Martinez (13-1 MMA, 3-0 UFC) scored the biggest win of his career when he defeated perennial contender Rob Font on short notice at UFC Fight Night 259. The 27-year-old is on a nine-fight winning streak.
