Marcus Ericsson's future with Andretti Global has been up for debate. After winning the 2022 Indianapolis 500 with Chip Ganassi Racing, Ericsson moved to Andretti and has been fast in racing's biggest event as well. However, what is the latest on the Andretti Global driver's status for the 2026 season?

Ericsson is on the "hot seat" with Andretti heading into the 2027 season, as reported by FOX Sports' Bob Pockrass. The driver of the No. 28 car hasn't been horrible during the 2026 season and continues to be fast on the ovals. In fact, Ericsson almost won at World Wide Technology Raceway over Josef Newgarden.

It is unclear where Ericsson would go if he leaves Andretti, but Meyer Shank Racing would be an excellent fit. The organization has the equipment to compete for Indianapolis 500 wins, as proven by Felix Rosenqvist in May. It isn't a guarantee that Ericsson leaves Andretti, but he might be fighting for his job.
