The blank spots of the NCAA Tournament bracket are beginning to be filled in.
Texas women's basketball filled one of 16 spots Sunday with a 100-58 win over Oregon at Moody Center to advance to the regional semifinal tihs upcoming Friday and Saturday.
Fort Worth and Sacramento, Calif. are the two regional locations. Texas was fortunate to draw the Fort Worth regional and travel only three hours north for its next game. The eight teams that advance to the regional final will play two days after the semifinal, March 29-30.

Texas will play a familiar logo: either current conference foe Kentucky or former conference rival West Virginia. The Longhorns beat the Wildcats 64-53 at home in February thanks to a 17-point effort from Justice Carlton and 13-points from Jordan Lee. After playing each other at least twice a season in the Big 12 for years, the Longhorns could have a date with West Virginia. Texas holds the 19-10 record against the Mountaineers and won the last game 78-73 in Dec. 2024.
Texas will face either team Saturday at a time that has not yet been announced.
So far, the teams who have clinched a spot are Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, TCU and Texas. More games Monday will decide the rest of the field.
No. 1 Texas vs Kentucky/West Virginia, TBA in Fort Worth
No. 2 Michigan vs Louisville/Alabama, TBA in Fort Worth
No. 4 Minnesota vs Oklahoma State/UCLA, TBA in Fort Worth
No. 4 North Carolina vs Syracuse/UConn, TBA in Fort Worth
No. 4 Oklahoma vs USC/South Carolina, TBA in Sacramento, Calif.
No. 3 TCU vs Virginia/Iowa, TBA in Sacramento, Calif.
Two other games will be posted when those participants become clearer.
March 27-28 is the Sweet 16. The winners of those games move on to the Elite Eight in those same cities that weekend.
The Final Four and national championship will be played early next month at Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix. The title game is April 5.
