When the Edmonton Oilers got Jack Roslovic a year ago, they had high hopes.
That didn't work out, though, and now he's coming to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The deal was signed on Wednesday for two years and $4 million per year:

It'll be up to Roslovic to live up to a bit more of his potential in Toronto.
The winger was recently ranked No. 16 by The Athletic's Chris Johnston on his free agent big board, so it's not a bad signing for the Leafs by that measure.
The success of the deal will be told more, though, by whether Roslovic is productive at all.
"He’ll be hoping for a smoother free agent experience than last year, when he sat on the market until October before signing in Edmonton and putting up another 20-goal season," Johnston writes. "A strong skater with a decent set of offensive tools, Roslovic can be counted on to produce about 0.5 points per game. He brings some versatility as a right winger or center who can help a power play. However, Roslovic has also battled consistency issues throughout his career."
The good news, as Johnston notes, is that Roslovic got this contract done much earlier.
Toronto will hope that sets a better tone for this connection.
It wouldn't have cost much for the Oilers to bring Roslovic back, but they opted not to, so now he moves across the country to Toronto.
