The Toronto Maple Leafs were shut out 4-0 at home Tuesday night, with the Ottawa Senators carrying a two-game winning streak into Game 6.
Following the Game 5 loss, the Leafs are now 1-13 in their last 14 potential series-clinching games.
After dropping their second straight game and failing to eliminate the Senators, Maple Leafs coach Craig Berube made clear he isn’t planning major lineup changes for Game 6.
"I don’t want to change too much," Berube said. "I think there has been a lot of good.
"At the same time, we have to find ways to put the puck in the net a little more."
Toronto's top line struggled again, with Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, and Matthew Knies held scoreless while present on the ice for all four goals against last Tuesday.
Berube called out the top-line performance following the Game 5 loss.
“There was not enough speed through the neutral zone with that line to create in the offensive zone off of that,” Berube said.

Toronto’s second line—featuring William Nylander, John Tavares, and Bobby McMann—hasn’t offered much production either.
Nylander and Tavares have been more effective on the power play than at five-on-five, and in Game 5, Berube already experimented by placing Max Domi and Calle Jarnkrok onto their line during the third period.
“Just trying to create some offence in the third period, that’s all,” Berube said. “Nothing else.
“We’re up 3-2 in the series,” Berube said. “It’s playoff hockey—there’s a lot of ups and downs. We need composure.”
Game 6 is scheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m. in Ottawa as the Senators will try to make it three wins in a row to force a win-and-in Game 7 back in Toronto.
