Whisenhunt has one other interview scheduled this week. I don't know the name. I'm hearing, however, that former secondary coach Teryl Austin is a longshot.

It seems more likely that the Cards would promote Donnie Henderson than Austin.

The Cards need to have Mack Brown and the folks at Texas help them with their coaching hires. UT already has both a new DC and OC. The Offensive Coordinator was OC at Boise State and the DC comes from the SEC.

His last two DC's are now the head coach at Florida and the reigning Natl Champion HC at Auburn.

I truly believe Whiz knows something that we don’t as far as making Butler the DC. They are supposedly such good friends. I just find it hard to believe they haven’t spoken about it for one second. Yes, it would be tampering I guess, but basically it’s just two good friends talking to each other.

Also, I would so much like to believe that Whiz didn’t bet too much on Manusky without having a reasonable backup-plan.

I believe Whiz and Butler have the same agent and would know about the loopholes regarding the "coordinator in waiting" clause.
