Mancini’s renewal not at risk, defender set for extended stay


In recent days, there has been talk of Inter’s strong interest in Gianluca Mancini, one of the players being monitored by the Nerazzurri to strengthen their defense.


The Roma center-back’s contract expires in June 2027, and his situation remains one of the most important to resolve at the Giallorossi.


According to Il Tempo, however, an agreement for his contract renewal with Roma until 2029 was reportedly reached months ago. A basis for agreement exists, with Mancini expected to earn around €3 million per season.


However, following the general slowdown in renewals following the heavy defeat against Inter, the defender has yet to sign his new contract. The situation therefore remains pending a key step: the official arrival of new sporting director Tony D’Amico.


Mancini is waiting for the new sporting structure to be defined before definitively closing the renewal discussion, at a time when Roma will be facing several contractual and transfer market issues.


Furthermore, it is not excluded that a salary increase compared to the agreements reached in recent weeks could be discussed.


The club remains committed to securing a player considered crucial for the present and future, but the final formal step will be needed to transform the agreement into a signature.
