Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens has capped a dream debut season in English football by being named the official Premier League Transfer of the Season.
The 23-year-old, who moved to Old Trafford from Royal Antwerp, claimed the accolade following a division-wide public poll on the Premier League’s official website.
Lammens faced stiff competition on the eight-man shortlist, beating out the likes of Granit Xhaka—who inspired newly promoted Sunderland to a historic European qualification—Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Leeds United), Joao Pedro and Viktor Gyokeres.
While high-profile arrivals such as Benjamin Sesko drew the initial headlines for United, Lammens quietly established himself as the club’s most vital signing.
Despite missing the first six weeks of the season, the Belgian made an immediate impact on his debut in matchweek seven against Sunderland, keeping a clean sheet in a 2–0 victory.
Over his 32 top-flight appearances, the ‘brilliant’ Lammens made 78 saves at a 67% success rate and kept eight clean sheets, proving himself to be a reliable last line of defence for Man United, who secured a third-place finish and Champions League football for the 2026/27 campaign.
He prevented 6.39 expected goals (xG)—more than any other goalkeeper in the league—and earned two Save of the Month nominations, notably for a spectacular acrobatic stop against Arsenal in January.
Lammens made his senior international debut for Belgium in November, keeping a clean sheet against Liechtenstein, and is now set to join the Red Devils as a key figure for this summer’s FIFA World Cup. At just £18.1m, he has proven to be an absolute bargain for United.
