Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayındır has joined Celta Vigo on a season-long loan deal, with an option to make the transfer permanent for £3.5 million ($4.7 million) included in the agreement.
Celta Vigo will cover Bayındır's salary throughout the loan spell, while United will receive performance-related bonuses. The Red Devils have also inserted a substantial sell-on percentage for any future transaction should the purchase option be triggered.
United's official statement confirming the transfer read, via the Manchester Evening News: "Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir has agreed to join La Liga side Celta Vigo on loan for the duration of the 2026/27 season, subject to registration.

"The 28-year-old played six games for United last season, his third term since joining from Fenerbahce in 2023. Following his debut against Newport County in 2024, Altay has made 17 appearances in total for the club.
"Bayindir now heads out to Spain to link up with Os Celestes, who finished sixth in La Liga last season under head coach Claudio Giraldez and are set to compete in this season's UEFA Europa League.
"Everyone at United wishes Altay the best of luck for the campaign ahead."
Bayındır began last season as United's number one goalkeeper when Ruben Amorim dropped André Onana from his plans, but he subsequently lost his starting spot to Senne Lammens and played no further part in the campaign.

United originally acquired Bayındır from Fenerbahçe for £4.3 million (around $5.4 million) three years ago.
However, the writing has long been on the wall for the Turkish international, with United having signed both former Leeds United shot-stopper Karl Darlow and ex-Swansea City youngster Kit Margetson earlier this summer - with both arriving as free agents.
Bayındır is also the fourth goalkeeper to exit United this summer, with Onana returning to Süper Lig side Trabzonspor on a season-long loan, 20-year-old Elyh Harrison headed to Greenock Morton on loan, whilst fellow 20-year-old Solomon Honor has joined Southport for the year.
