Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al-Mubarak has put his rivals on notice, declaring that the club will continue to invest heavily in pursuit of further silverware.

City claimed a remarkable 20 trophies during Pep Guardiola's decade of dominance at the Etihad. And despite the Spaniard's departure, Al-Mubarak insists the club will not shy away from major spending going forward.

City are closing in on securing England star Elliot Anderson in a deal that could set them back £100 million ($133.69 million).

The club's valuation has soared from £100 million to nearly £7 billion ($9.36 billion) since Sheikh Mansour's takeover, and Al-Mubarak confirms that Mansour has no plans to sell — and will continue pouring his billions into the club, as per The Mirror.

Al-Mubarak said: "You can look at investing for today, meaning looking at profit today, I want a dividend today, I want to profit today. Or you can look at building value, the value of the enterprise you're investing in.

"Sheikh Mansour, when he looks at this club, he sees it as a long-term investment. Sheikh Mansour and the shareholders who have invested in this club over the years, buy into the vision that we're going to invest in something that's going to grow in value over time."

"Of course, his Highness has no intention of selling this business. Sheikh Mansour took a very important choice, which was that the money stays in because we're going to keep building this.

"There's no intention to sell. There's only intention to keep growing this, because the view here is this will only grow and this is a beautiful business to own."

"It's football and it's entertainment. And in the world we're in today, while the world changes and people's attention goes to different things, sport stays."

"And football within sports is the pinnacle. And Manchester City and this group within the football world is a pinnacle. And these sorts of jewels, you don't sell."

Al-Mubarak, meanwhile, has pledged to speak out once the verdict is delivered on the hearing into the 115 charges City allegedly violated regarding Premier League spending regulations.

He added: "Let me be as consistent as I've always been. Until we have a ruling, I can't say much. Once we have a ruling, believe me, we're going to have a wonderful sit-down together and I'll say everything I've wanted to say for the last three years."
