Jordan Mitchell, one of the nation’s top basketball prospects in the Class of 2028, announced Monday he is leaving Male High School for a Missouri prep school.
Mitchell posted on his Instagram account that he will head to Link Academy in Branson, Missouri.
A 6-foot-2 shooting guard, Mitchell is a four-star prospect and the No. 45-ranked recruit in the Class of 2028, according to ESPN.com.
Mitchell earned second-team All-State honors from The Courier Journal as a sophomore at Male after averaging 24.2 points and 5.0 rebounds. He shot 41% from 3-point range (48 of 117) while helping the Bulldogs go 16-13.
Mitchell joined Male’s varsity program as an eighth-grader and totaled 1,137 points over his three seasons. He has scholarship offers from Morehead State, Oklahoma State, TCU, Virginia Tech and Western Kentucky.
It’s a major loss for a Male team that figured to enter the 2026-27 season as a top contender for the state championship. Key players slated to return for the Bulldogs are 6-10 junior Trey Hillerich, 6-5 sophomore Jaden Johnson and 6-0 freshman Mason Calhoun.
