ESPN has ranked Notre Dame's Hannah Hidalgo as the third-best player in the 2026 women's NCAA basketball tournament.
The Fighting Irish junior guard averaged 26.1 points per game during a recent stretch in which Notre Dame went 9-2. Hidalgo has averaged 25.2 points per game, 5.3 assists per game and 5.4 steals per game. She was third in the country in scoring and led the nation in steals.
She's the ACC player of the year and defensive player of the year. Perhaps this stat shows it best -- Hidalgo has four double-digit steal games, including two in conference play. The rest of the players in the nation combined for four double-digit steal games.
Hidalgo could end up carrying the Fighting Irish far in the NCAA tournament.
