The Major Arena Soccer League is coming to Ocean City, Maryland this fall, as the indoor soccer league recently announced that they were adding a new Ocean City-based team.

Beachtown FC will be the new team in the MASL2, and Ocean City's new squad will embark on its first campaign during the 2026-27 season. Beachtown FC will be the second team on Maryland's Eastern Shore added to the MASL2 in recent years, as the Salisbury Steaks were also recently added to the league in 2023. Beachtown FC will be owned by the Dawson family, which also owns MASL's FC Baltimore 1729 team.

“After an amazing first year in Baltimore with our FC Baltimore 1729 club, it was really a no-brainer to expand with an additional professional franchise in the Ocean City and Delaware beaches region. My family and I have been so fortunate to have received so much support in this region with our other businesses that we own in Rehoboth Beach and Ocean City, and we are proud of our new endeavor," Ron Dawson, owner of Beachtown FC, said in a statement. “We are extremely excited to be bringing the first professional franchise to the Maryland/Delaware beaches region,” he added. “There are so many tremendous fans from the lower Delaware and Maryland beaches, including Rehoboth Beach through Ocean City. Now they will have a local team at the beach to support.”

MASL 2 commissioner Chris Economides lauded Dawson and his family for the passion and commitment shown when they launched their first club, FC Baltimore 1729.

“It was in many ways a very challenging year for him, but he handled it all with class andprofessionalism and a dedication to the sport and his players that was a testament to his philosophy and his commitment to be as good an owner as he can possibly be,” Economides said in a statement.

“Beachtown FC will be in very good hands, and now Ron and his family will do everything the right way and help that community embrace the Major Arena Soccer League family.”

The league will be celebrating its 10th anniversary this fall, as Beachtown FC joins the Eastern Division that will include United Elite Krajisnik, FC Baltimore 1729, Spice City FC and the Harrisburg Heat.
