As Longhorns women's basketball has continued its stretch of dominance, veterans Madison Booker and Rori Hamon have led the way. Texas is off to a 24-3 start and ranked No. 4 in the country. While Booker and Harmon have filled up the box score, they have made headlines. On Tuesday, the duo was named to the 2026 Jersey Mike's Naismith Women's College Player of the Year Late-Season Team.

Each year, the award is given to the best player in the nation. While Booker and Harmon have a lot of competition they have made compelling cases. As the Longhorns move closer to winning a national title, the talented duo has rewritten the record books.

In 27 games, Harmon is averaging nine points and a team-high 6.3 assists per game. The Texas native has 902 assists, which is a program record. She also holds the Longhorns' record for steals with 357, breaking a mark set in 1980. As Harmon has filled up the stat sheet, she has also shown great decision-making with the best assist-to-turnover ratio in the country.

Although Harmon's play has stood out, the Cypress Creek High Alum has gotten some help from Booker. The 2025 SEC Player of the Year is averaging career-highs in points per game with 18.5 and rebounds per game with 6.6. Regardless of where Booker has been on the court, she has been deadly with the ball in her hands, shooting 50 percent from the field. She has also scored 20 or more points nine times this season.

While Booker and Harmon will have to wait a few weeks to see how voting shakes out, they have another goal in mind: ending the Longhorns title drought. Last year, they fell just a few wins short of a title, losing in the Final Four. They are poised for another deep run with much of that roster still in place.

If Booker and Harmon can continue their stellar play, it will be hard for voters to deny the Longhorns duo more hardware.
