With pretty much all of the numbers in it's time to give my second mock for the Cardinals. In this mock I have the Cardinals trading out of the #15 pick with the Cowboys. In exchange the Cardinals get the #19 and #81 picks in this draft. I have the Cardinals trading out of the pick because none of the QBs they like are there and they have so many holes to fill.
#19 (From Cowboys) CB Josh Jackson Iowa
Jackson's 40 numbers cause him to slide some but his length and play making ability are too much for the Cardinals to pass up. Jackson reminds me of another Josh (Norman) who also fell in the draft due to a poor 40 time. The Cardinals finally find their answer to who will play across from PP.
#47 QB Kyle Lauletta Richmond
In this photo we see Kyle telling Stout to calm down. Yes the Cardinals reach here for a QB but Lauletta has not so quietly been sneaking up draft boards since his strong performance at the senior bowl. Now the Cardinals finally have a young QB to groom for a year or two till he is ready.
#79 WR DJ Chark LSU
Chark has already caught a 75 yard TD pass from Lauletta during the Senior Bowl. Adding Chark give the Cardinal another weapon on the outside who can develop with the young QB.
#81 (From Cowboys) LB Shaquem Griffen UCF
I've had this kid in all of my mock drafts. In my original draft this year I had him as a 5th rounder. That was before he blew up the Combine. Now I'm hoping he lasts till the middle of the 3rd. All this kid does is make plays. Plus he is a leader and just all around great kid who the fans will fall in love with. He will contribute immediately as a special teamer and on passing downs where he has the speed to cover TEs and rush the passer.
#97 RB Kerryon Johnson Auburn
It's Johnson & Johnson 2.0 but this time around Kerryon provides more of a punch. I absolutely love this kid. I think he slides due to RB being so deep this year. He is a very intelligent and patient runner with the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. He understands his blocking assignments and won't get his QB killed. The Cardinals are going to be more run oriented under Wilks and this selection will help keep DJ fresh. Steal of the Draft.
#134 DT Deadrin Senat South Fla.
This is a big man who will play NT in Wilks 4-3. He will provide a rotational player with Corey Peters to help keep Peters fresh. I've seen him play a few times when USF played UCF and he is a force inside.
#152 CB Devron Davis UTSA
Marcus Davenport is the one who is grabbing attention at UTSA but his shining star has led scouts to Davis. Davis has the size and speed that NFL teams covet with their DBs. Davis will be a bit of a project but we all know Keim loves his projects from small schools.
#182 TE Ryan Izzo FSU
Not your flashy TE but a solid inline blocker and decent hands. He isn't going to outrun anyone but will bull over DBs.
#254 Whoever.
