Lynx's Olivia Miles already making Wings' Azzi Fudd draft pick look bad originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Olivia Miles belongs.
It doesn't take long watching the Minnesota Lynx rookie to recognize that the No. 2 overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft is quite comfortable in the professional ranks, even just two games into her career.
Her early performances will also start to raise an immediate question: Did the team picking first, the Dallas Wings, get it wrong by picking Azzi Fudd over Miles?
They're different players, Fudd a sharpshooter and more complementary player in an offense that already included Paige Bueckers, while Miles is a clear rising star with the basketball in her hands all the time.
But still -- how good does Fudd have to be as a secondary option to match what Miles may become as Minnesota's primary creator?

It's way too early to judge, but it's a question that will follow these two for a while.
Miles helped the Lynx win Tuesday night for their first victory, and she went for 13 points (5-for-10 FG) with 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Maybe most importantly, she had just 2 turnovers even while handling the ball a ton.
MORE: Someone really called Caitlin Clark the 'Jeremy Lin of the WNBA'
The most eye-catching moment came after a Miles bucket, when the Mercury called timeout and Miles ran back down the floor toward her bench past Alyssa Thomas -- Miles let the Phoenix star hear about it.
There's no way to know what she said, but the words weren't that important. The truth behind the moment is what mattered, and that truth is this: Miles already knows she's capable of great things in the WNBA.
