The Los Angeles Lakers continue to be short-handed as they look to close out the Houston Rockets in the first round of the NBA playoffs. Luka Doncic isn't very close to returning from his Grade 2 hamstring strain, and while Austin Reaves is close to coming back from his oblique strain, it is unknown exactly when he will be cleared to play after being listed as questionable for both Game 3 and Game 4.

But Doncic did take another step forward in his recovery — albeit not a huge one. On Sunday, Lakers coach JJ Redick said that the superstar has started movement on the court after shooting standstill shots for a number of days, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN.

JJ Redick said Luka Doncic started movement on the court today as he continues to rehab his left hamstring strain. “Most of his stuff [before] had been standstill,” Redick said.

Doncic and Reaves both suffered their injuries during an April 2 blowout loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Without them, Los Angeles somehow won the first three games of its series against the Rockets despite being big underdogs coming into the matchup. It then lost Game 4, 115-96, which means the series will shift back to Crypto.com Arena for Game 5 on Wednesday.
