MUNICH, GERMANY - MAY 06: Luis Enrique, Head Coach of Paris Saint-Germain, celebrates following his side's progression to the UEFA Champions League Final after the UEFA Champions League 2025/26 Semi Final Second Leg match between FC Bayern München and Paris Saint-Germain at Football Arena Munich on May 06, 2026 in Munich, Germany. When Bayern Munich was eliminated from the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain, the Bavarians and their fans were despondent.

However, PSG boss Luis Enrique said that the postgame meet up between old friends Dayot Upamecano and Ousmane Dembélé showed that the clash was about more than just two great teams meeting in a tournament.

“After we played in Munich against a great team, I saw a nice photo of Upamecano and Ousmane Dembélé together, embracing after the match. It’s important because it shows that, in football, there are no real losers. Losing is a normal part of life, and it’s important to know how to lose. You give everything you have, 100%, and then you have to accept the result afterward. Congratulations to Mister Upamecano. I want to see the same thing when we lose. We need to show young people that you must know how to lose. That’s important,” Enrique said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).

Knowing how to lose is a lesson in life, but for Bayern Munich and its fans, it would have probably felt better to not have to experience it against PSG last week.
