BATON ROUGE — LSU football has made some additions and subtractions to several of its future schedules.
The program announced Friday it has added future nonconference games against Northwestern State, Southern, Louisiana-Monroe. and Tulane. Interestingly, LSU will be taking advantage of the college football calendar's Week 0 date with a couple of the matchups with in-state foes, something it has rarely done recently.
LSU will host Northwestern State on Aug. 28, 2027, a Week 0 game, and according to the game contract obtained by The Daily Advertiser, LSU will pay the Demons $750,000 for the visit to Tiger Stadium.

The following season, the Tigers will face ULM in Week 0 on Aug. 26, 2028, to open the season and that game will come with a $1.6 million payday for the Warhawks. LSU will then play host to crosstown opponent Southern on Sept. 9, two weeks after the matchup with Louisiana-Monroe. Southern will earn $750,000 to play at LSU.
And for the first time in 21 years, LSU and Tulane will be renewing their old rivalry Aug. 31, 2030, at Tiger Stadium. The two schools first met back in 1893 but have not played since 2009. According to the game contract, LSU will pay the Green Wave $1.2 million for the contest.
LSU has also removed a future home-and-home series with Arizona State that was scheduled for 2029 and 2030, the Daily Advertiser confirmed Monday. The Tigers and the Sun Devils were set to play Sept. 8, 2029, in Baton Rouge and Sept. 14, 2030, in Tempe, Arizona.
Per records obtained by The Daily Advertiser, LSU and Arizona State mutually agreed to terminate and release each other from the two-game contract last month on June 15 with no punitive damages for either athletic department.
