LSU men's basketball welcomed an elite prospect to campus as new head coach Will Wade looks to fire up the recruiting operation in Baton Rouge. Ryan Hampton shared pictures from his trip to Baton Rouge to social media on Friday.
Hampton is a consensus five-star prospect in the 2027 recruiting class. Rivals' Industry Rankings list him as the No. 1 shooting guard and No. 4 prospect out of Florida as well as the No. 9 overall player in the cycle.
The six-foot-six shooting guard hails from Rockwall, TX and plays at DME Academy in Daytona Beach, FL. Hampton will play two seasons there before heading off to college. He already holds offers from several Power Four programs.
Rivals lists SMU as the favorite to land Hampton's commitment, along with Nebraska as favorites. He was linked to NC State before Wade's move to LSU. He'll continue to be a priority of the Tigers' staff as they look to load up on highly ranked players.
