After not being able to play on Friday due to a downpour, LSU baseball and Texas A&M finally got underway in game one of a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon with Kade Anderson on the mound for the Tigers. LSU couldn't get the job done as the Aggies took game one 3-1.

This game shaped up like most Anderson starts for LSU. It became a pitcher's duel, and it felt like the first team to score two runs would be able to win game one. The Aggies took the lead in the bottom of the second inning with an RBI double, giving them a 1-0 lead.

LSU was not able to score a run until the top of the sixth inning when Jared Jones hit a solo shot to tie the game 1-1. Neither team got the bats going as through six innings, LSU had four hits and Texas A&M had three. Anderson was racking up strikeouts as he had already hit double digits. He had 12 Ks after six innings.

In the top of the seventh inning, Michael Braswell III walked with one out to put a Tiger on the bases. Steven Milam then reached on a fielder's choice as Braswell was thrown out at second. With two outs in the inning, Chris Stanfield hit a double down the left field line, and Milam attempted to go all the way from first to score, but he was thrown out at the plate to keep the game tied. In the bottom of the seventh, LSU turned the game over to Zac Cowan.

Anderson's day ended after six innings of work, where he gave up one run on three hits, 12 strikeouts, and three walks. Another great start for him. Cowan was greeted with a triple for the Aggies to put the go-ahead run 90 feet away with no outs. An RBI single then gave the Aggies a 2-1 lead. Cowan would get an out and then give up a single to put runners on the corners with one out. He was then pulled from the game, and Cooper Williams entered. Unfortunately for Cowan, a ball right down the middle is not a strike.

An error by LSU would score another run for A&M and increase their lead to 3-1 as runners advanced to second and third with only one out. Mavrick Rizy then entered to pitch. Rizy struck out the first hitter he faced and then intentionally walked the next guy to load the bases with two outs. Rizy struck out the next guy, and we headed to the eighth inning with LSU trailing 3-1.

In the top of the eighth inning, LSU had the top of the lineup due up with Derek Curiel, Jones, and Josh Pearson looking to cut into the lead. Curiel struck out for out number one, but Jones and Pearson both hit a single to put runners on first and second with one out. Danny Dickinson struck out for out number two. Jake Brown was then walked to load the bases. Ashton Larson would then pinch-hit for Luis Hernandez, who was 0-3 on the day. The Aggies would counter that move with a pitching change of their own. Ethan Frey was then chosen to hit instead of Larson. Frey hit a flyout to right field to end the inning.

Rizy worked a flawless bottom of the eighth inning, and we headed to the ninth with the Tigers needing some runs. Braswell III started off the top of the ninth with a single. Milam popped out to shortstop for out number one. Stanfield walked to put runners on first and second with one out. Curiel then flew out for out number two. Jones struck out and the Tigers lost 3-1.
