As the second round of the Amundi Evian Championship gathered momentum Friday, South Korea’s Mi Hyang Lee added a little sleight of hand, pulling off a magic trick that helped spark a charge up the leaderboard in the season’s fourth major.
Lee's second shot into the par-5 18th defied logic. From the right rough with the ball below her feet, Lee's choppy bullet took an unbelievable skip out of the water and onto the green. It looked almost as if it bounced off concrete in the middle of the pond.
"She's going to skip it; she's going to skip it! That skipped miles!" exclaimed announcer Tom Abbott.
Lee gave her eagle putt a good run and walked away with a miracle birdie, taking her one shot closer to the cut line.
Lee has three LPGA victories to her credit, including one earlier this year at the Blue Bay LPGA.
