Myah Epps is stable and scheduled to undergo surgery, Homestead girls basketball coach Rod Parker said in a statement released on behalf of the Epps family Saturday morning.
Epps, a senior Louisville signee, was involved in a car crash Friday morning in Fort Wayne and airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital.
Parker was granted permission to address "inaccurate rumors currently circulating online."
"At this time, any other information or rumors being shared are inaccurate," he wrote. "The family appreciates everyone’s concern and continued prayers for Myah’s quick recovery."
A 5-foot-10 combo guard, Epps averaged 14 points on 52% shooting, plus 4.1 assists, 2.3 steals and 4 blocks in 26 games this season.
For her career, she totaled 1,560 points, 445 assists and 217 steals, and guided the Spartans to three consecutive sectional championships from 2023-25, with a regional title in 2024 (program's first since 2017).
