It is Monday. It is a good day to take 5 minutes and look ahead to the last 6 games of the season. (wow, only 6 weeks left, what a blur).

Yes, yes. One game at a time, and that is the way to look at it, but as I said it is Monday, we can cheat for 5 minutes.

Titans, Vikings, Niners, Lions, Rams & Green Bay

Could you pick a better list of opponents to act as a litmus test for this team going into the playoffs. The only game that we may be able to write off is Green Bay, IF we are sitting at, or better than 10-5 at that point.

Yet, there is a great oppourtunity for the Cardinals to have a 10 or 10+ win season.

That is very exciting. The biggest challenge is the next 3 games. The next biggest challenge after that is how our team will respond with the possibility of having 2 or 3 weeks of "nothing to play for".

All kinds of crazy scenarios. The Cardinals get an "atta boy" for getting the job done, and getting to 7-3. They have earned the oppourtunity to take a couple of steps forward as an organization. The get to right some wrongs (Titans game [very close copy to Carolina game earlier this year]), they will play a #1/#2 seed for the playoffs (Vikings [not to mention they have payback for Farve]), they will have to deal with another trap game (Lions), and finally get a chance to get back at the Niners (Monday night football).

Lots of new and exciting oppourtunities have been given to the Cardinals because of their win yesterday. It is a good thing they stayed conservative, and rested a lot of guys. They will need it.

I really hope they don't tank this season when they have nothing to play for again. I think they learned their lesson last season. You can't take your foot off the pedal.

However, if we don't have a first round bye, it would behoove us to sit most of the starters the final game. Unless we are fighting for a first round bye, and we may if we beat the Vikings.

I can easily see us going 12-4 at this point.

We should be playing hard for a first round bye and home field. Its in our grasp. Ours to lose.
I thought only the top two division winners got a bye? New Orleans is 10-0 and Minnesota 9-1. Even if the Cardinals beat the Vikings it's still up to the Vikings if they get a first round bye. I don't really see the Saints or Vikings stumbling that much the last 6 games.

I only see two relative "gimmes" (as much of a gimme as you get in the NFL...and with the Cards, that is): Lions and Rams. The other games wouldn't surprise me a bit if the Cards lost.

Vegas, baby, yeah!
Well, just to break out the crystal ball for a moment and look at the NFC West (specifically, the 9ers):

IF we go 3-3 over the remaining 6 games, that puts us at 10-6.

9ers, meanwhile, are currently sitting at 4-6. Their remaining schedule is: JAC, @ SEA, ARI, @ PHI, DET, @ STL. I see no reason that they shouldn't win at least 3, maybe 4, on the outside 5 of their remaining games.

So let's use 5 wins, which puts SF at 9-7, which makes the SF game huge to stop them from winning the tie breaker; and 3 wins over the next 6 a must for us.

I wonder how much of an impact Tennessee coming off MNF on a short week vs. a division rival will play into next week's game? Maybe a down week for them, even if it's at their place?

So Rugbymuffin, you changed your signature line and avatar.

This means you don't think the Cards could be a fluke anymore?

Yep,
I think I am a week early, but a win this last weekend clinched it. I think we are a competitive team with the potential to be reall contenders. Kinda where I thought this team was at the beginning of the year.

That loss to Carolina was bad, real bad. The loss to the Niners was acceptable, and almost expected they way the team was playing this offseason (which was horrible if you don't remember).

The nice thing about the game this week, is that the Titans team is very similar to the Panthers. Pretty solid teams with real bad records.

Historically speaking, Favre is due for a couple of horrendous showings, in fact over due, especially late in the season. The Vikings are a very good team, but they are very beatable, especially if Favre starts getting erratic again.

it really is if titans win tonight...if they lose that will totally knock them out...so take out your rooting wings and go for texans and hope that kurt can see straight.

If you remember correctly.Right after the so called concussion hit to Warner he was throwing again, and a bullet mind you at that to Boldin.I think he can see just as straight as Johnny Unitas did when he played just like Warner without all the head trauma stuff AT THE TIME during the 50's and 60's.

We're talking John Wayne stuff here.Warner has to have two limbs missing to not start the next game.Any talk of resting him is beyond Ludicrous. We will WIN in NASHVILLE.Its almost a must win game for this teams ROAD WARRIOR mentality to go forth. All the way through the playoffs.

Lots of times teams lose to a team during the season to come back and beat same said team in the playoffs when it matters most.Ala the panthers last season and I can name 10 other teams and cite losses they came back to correct when it all mattered most.

The vikes have Jared Allen,Percy Harvin.Rice the wr coming into his own,of course All Day and who knows what favre will do without the big play.Warner had 6 interceptions against favre last year during the season(jets)might have been 5.lol

Yet Warner has the fact farve threw 6 interceptions for the packers in the playoffs playing against Warners rams a few years back.Anything can happen if we can get all of our guys back and have our backups play as well as all the time they are getting to play in backup roles in these dog days of the NFL.

I'm loving me some Will Davis as a 6th round pick.WOW!!!! Just like Breaston at a #5."Can we have some more please?"Just to watch Branch and Watson play together again is just down right fun.Even though Dockett is "DA MAN!!!"

Glad lil' Adams got him a game to sharpen his skills but LORD Please let our tackling Dynamo at CB in Bryant McFadden come back from that knee injury. He is third on the teams leading tackler list and has technique and skills in the coverage department.

DRC still getting major ON THE JOB training in coverage and still making some of the same mistakes while showing his skills also the next play.Ware was'nt as sharp in his tackling yesterday.Hope he returns to form.Okeafor we MUST have you back. Can we get a down and dirty diagnosis of what is actually wrong with your back? If it is a disc ,will ya'll tell us fans?

Hoping the magic hands of the teams Chiro can get you back on the field.I noticed even though Gerald Hayes was back he was not the guy that left injured just yet.Hope Gerald Hayes can FULLY bounce back and not relapse in this very special united team of very special players in there LAST SuperBowl run before this puppy is changed dramatically next year with much more youth.I even want Berry to save up that three special games left of his CAREER for the sprint run we'll have to MIAMI.

I BELIEVE.....Warner can see just fine and he'll be there.No worries Mate:D

We play 3 of the top 5 worst defenses in the NFL the next 6 weeks.

I like our shot at getting to double digit wins this year.

I know some are afraid of the Titans but I am not so much. They are one of the worst defenses in the NFL. To make things worse they are one of the worst at something we do the best at. Passing. Titans are allowing a 70% completion percentage. Against one of the most accurate QB's in football. If they didnt have Chris Johnson I think we would be talking about them as the worst team in football this year.

Plus the Gods are in our favor since we luckily got the NFL to move the game to an evening kickoff were we excell rather then the morning kickoff where we dont.

Having 2 or three weeks of nothing to play for. I don't think this team knows the concept. :thud:

The next three weeks will tell a lot. I'm just glad they're going into it with a W from yesterday. That takes off a little pressure. But if we can stay an UNDEFEATED road team @ Tennessee, THAT'S HUGE....just WOW! :newcards:

From best to worst in one year! How much did losing Hansworth contribute?!

I mean they still could have been more mediocre this year, but this?!

Historically speaking Favre played on some not so good teams. His stats speak for themselves.

You should also know that he played late last year with an injury that would have put 95% of the QB's on the bench. Not because he needed to keep his consecutive starts intact, but the org. wouldn't take him out of there. One of the reasons he needed extra time off this off-season.

We aren't out of the woods yet!!!

Even with a 3 game lead and a tough road game against Ten & a home tough 1 against the Vikes, it realistically might come down to the Monday Nighter in Frisco. The Niners very winnable games at home against the Jags & a road trip to Seattle. If we lose to the Titans, I see the scenario playing out in a winner take all in Frisco.

You guys are writing off the Niners already and thats a mistake at this point. Call me the Darksider.

We must win this week!!!

Bucky I'm with you all the way.The team wants this win badly.Only once the division is wrapped up and it will be before the season is over.Whiz will evaluate if we have a shot at a first round bye if we can beat the vikes and he'll see the first game that we can't he'll probably start to rest some of the older guys on our team for games and let the rookies play. He'll want to start the playoffs as fresh as a daisy.

We just happen to have an older team this year leading the youngsters. So Whiz will make sure IF POSSIBLE he gets the older crowd as much rest as he can get them before the playoffs start.Unless he sees a way that we can get the second spot in the playoffs over the vikes. That can STILL happen. If we beat them and go undefeated and they lose one more we'll have the tie breaker over them. So who knows what the next 6 weeks hold.I hope a lot of folks getting healthy and ready to roll as our running game gets better week by week.Turn the Spider and Beanie loose.

Favre doesn't have the NFL all time record for INTs for nothing, he is due. No denying he is/was great but the guy always has a stinker or 2 along the way. He also has more playoff INTs than anyone too.

He only has 3 INTs this year, thats a downright miracle, he always finishes the season in the teens and a lot of times in the 20's...the last time he had less than 15 was 1996.
